Playing his first game in six months, Shreyas Iyer made a “really good feeling” when he scored an unbeaten 47 off 41 balls on such a pitch. Where the ball was not coming to the bat.

Chasing a total of 135 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he added 52 runs in 48 balls with Shikhar Dhawan first. And then took the team home with an unbroken partnership of 67 runs in 42 balls with Rishabh Pant. However, Shreyas Iyer was not satisfied with his performance.

Shreyas said that my hunger keeps on increasing with every match:

After the game he said that “I would not say that I am satisfied because the appetite has increased.” “The hunger goes on increasing with every match you play. That’s why I’m not satisfied or satisfied.”

Shreyas Iyer was recovering from a shoulder injury during the home series against England in March. He had to undergo surgery which ruled him out of the first leg of the IPL as well as the proposed stint with Lancashire.

Shreyas Iyer lost the captaincy of Capitals to Pant:

This also meant that Shreyas Iyer lost the captaincy of the Capitals to Rishabh Pant. Even after his return for the UAE leg, the franchise decided to continue with Pant as the captain. Whereas Iyer no longer has that additional responsibility. That doesn’t mean that his focus on his batting has increased a lot.

Kunalka has to say here also that when I was given the captaincy, I had a different mind. “My level of decision making and temperament was really good. And that has benefited me in the last two years. But I respect the decision of the franchise. And if you see, Rishabh is doing really well from the start of the season. is leading.

His focus on Iyer’s batting has increased manifold:

“It hasn’t changed much for me that my focus on my batting has increased manifold. When I was the captain, I love soaking in pressure. Whenever there is pressure, there is a challenge. And when I do well I am a challenge.

“Even today when I went in, there was pressure for the team to win matches because the wicket was a bit uneven. My mindset was the same, that being the core of the team, I have to finish the game. Whenever I play, my the mindset is to stay there till the end and see that I can lead the team to victory.”

Shreyas Iyer came to bat with the Capitals scoring 20 for 1 in the third over on the pitch used. Although his innings was not particularly fluent, Shreyas Iyer said that his role with the bat has not changed since his return.

Shreyas Iyer’s role is always based on the situation:

“My role is always based on the situation. But my intention has always been positive. Shreyas see that I have an aggressive nature whenever I step on the field irrespective of the situation. Even before my injury, I was in that frame. I was in. Mind and I still continue with the same attitude.

” Iyer’s routine and process have been on point. During my preparation, Shreyas checked all the boxes before coming here which tells me I am in great shape. I keep supporting my instincts… that’s what I do It was just the first game. It’s a long leg and hopefully I’ll continue to perform like that and focus on winning the championship.”
