SL vs AFG: Match stopped due to monitor lizard, umpire also ran away
SL vs AFG, monitor lizard: The audience saw a peculiar view on the ground during the only Test being played at the Sinhalese Sports Club between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. The monitor Lizard appeared on the ground during Sri Lanka’s innings, due to which the match had to be stopped for some time. The fielder and other members standing near the boundary line were quite scared to see Lizard.

The match being played between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan on Saturday, 3 February stayed for a long time. In the 47th over of Sri Lanka’s innings, the Lizard entered the field, crossing the boundary line. The players as well as the umpires were surprised to see the lizards enter the field. During the 47th over, Masood was bowling Sri Lanka’s veteran batsman Angelo Mathews. Meanwhile, the fielder standing on the boundary line asked to stop the match.

Monitor Lizard was taken out of the field after some time and the match started again. This is not the first time the game has been stopped like this. Earlier, snake was the reason.
Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl first :-
Sri Lanka won the toss in the only Test match against Afghanistan and decided to bowl first. The team led by Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 198 runs while batting first. Rahmat scored the most 91 runs. Afghanistan bowlers also disappointed. The Sri Lankan team scored 410 runs losing 6 wickets in the first innings thanks to 141 runs from Angelo Mathews.
Sri Lanka started well. There was a 93 -run partnership for the first wicket between Madhushank and Karunaratne. Madhushaka was dismissed for 37 and Dimuth 77. Kushal Mendis 10 and captain Dhananjay were dismissed without opening an account. Dinesh Chandimal scored 107 and Angelo scored 141 runs.
