Chamari Athapaththu record: Sri Lanka women’s team captain Chamari Athapaththu’s bat once again spoke fiercely. In the match played against New Zealand, Chamari batted brilliantly and scored a century, on the basis of which the hosts won by 8 wickets. The Sri Lankan batsman has shattered Mithali Raj’s big record as well as scoring her eighth century in ODI cricket.

Chamari Athapaththu batted brilliantly, scoring a memorable inning of 140 off just 80 balls at a strike rate of 175. During this stormy century innings, Chamari scored 13 fours and 9 sky-high sixes.

Along with this, Chamari has gone ahead of Mithali Raj in terms of scoring most centuries in the 50-over format. Mithali has scored a total of 7 centuries in ODI cricket in her international career. Chamari has also become the batsman to score the most centuries among Asian countries. Harmanpreet Kaur’s name is at number three in this list, who has scored five centuries, while Smriti Mandhana has also scored five centuries.

Chamari Athapaththu breaking all the record, moved up to joint-fourth on the list of most ODI hundreds in women’s cricket.

Athapaththu Scored the fastest century :-

Chamari Athapaththu has become the fastest Asian woman batsman to score a century in ODI cricket. He completed his century against New Zealand in just 60 balls. Along with this, along with Neelakshi de Silva, he also made the biggest partnership in ODI cricket for Sri Lanka. Chamari along with Neelakshi made an unbroken partnership of 190 runs for the third wicket.

Sri Lanka beat New Zealand for the first time :-

Sri Lanka’s women’s team has defeated New Zealand for the first time in the history of ODI cricket. SL won the three-match ODI series 2-1.
