Sodhi gave New Zealand a 41-run lead by dismissing Ahmed on the last ball of the first over

Ish Sodhi wrapped up Pakistan’s innings by trapping No. 11 Abrar Ahmed on the last ball of the first over of the fourth day. Saud Shakeel remained unbeaten on his career-best 125 – his maiden Test century – as New Zealand took a 41-run lead.

Sodhi took 3 wickets for 95 runs –

Shakeel took a single off the last ball of Sodhi’s over and the leg-spinner edged one to Abrar on the fuller side of middle and off. The ball pointed to turn away as Abrar missed his push and hit the front. He reviewed with hope rather than expectation, but the on-field decision remained stuck.

Sodhi took 3 wickets by giving 95 runs and Ejaz Patel took 3 wickets by giving 88 runs.

In the third day’s play –

Tom Latham took two catches as the second Test in Karachi ended an otherwise bleak third day as New Zealand took a flurry of wickets. Pakistan lost four wickets for 12 runs in a lower-order collapse in fading light, but Shakeel was unbeaten on 124 from 336 balls.
