Former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly says that India’s star wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant should take full time to fully recover from his injuries before starting the exercise of returning to competitive cricket. Pant was injured in a road accident in December last year. He is currently in the process of recovering from his injuries.
Ganguly gave such a statement about Rishabh Pant before IPL 2023 –
Ganguly said that the Delhi Capitals franchise will surely miss their wicket-keeper batsman in the upcoming Indian Premier League season. Pant has been the captain of Delhi Capitals for the last few seasons. Ganguly is associated with this team as the director of cricket.
Sourav Ganguly said in a release issued by the IPL franchise – “I am sure the national team is also missing him. He is young and has a lot of time left in his career, he is a special player and needs full recovery. He should take his full time for this. We wish him all the best and I will meet him as well.”

Ganguly has monitored the fitness of all the players during the team’s pre-season camp at the Arun Jaitley Stadium ahead of the IPL 2023 phase. Asked about David Warner (captain of Delhi Capitals this season),
Ganguly said – “David Warner is keen to lead the team, he is a great player. He has scored a lot of runs and he is also very experienced.”
