South Africa will face Sri Lanka aim at second slip-up in Group 1 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. With both teams looking for their second Super 12 win of the post to strengthen semi-final qualification estimates.

After a T20I series at the start of the year. Sri Lanka and South Africa meet as known foes in Sharjah. Where spin can reign supreme.

The Strong wins in all three matches :-

Traveling to Sri Lanka in September, South Africa enjoyed conditions in Colombo, winning all three matches with emphatic victories. Defending 163 in the first match, Temba Bavuma’s men won the next two matches by nine and ten wickets respectively.

In a tough Group 1, both teams faced similar destinies at the hands of Australia. But have so far won the Super 12. And South Africa lost to West Indies and Sri Lanka to Bangladesh.

Having entered the tournament through Group A of the first round, Sri Lanka has proved many of their doubts wrong, with their defeat to Australia being the only flaw in five matches. The team, led by Dasun Shanaka and Mickey Arthur has consistency, playing in a dynamic fashion that is far from the series leading up to the tournament.

South Africa, on the other hand, in addition to all the headlines off the field and chased down a target of 144 set by the defending champions on Tuesday.

Reeza Hendrix opened the innings with the composure of 39 (30) for the absent Quinton de Kock. With Rassie van der Dussen (43* off 51 balls). And Aiden Markram (51* off 26 balls) making light work of the job.

Since South Africa’s final match. Opener and wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock has declared his receipt for the fixture, should he be considered.
