New Delhi, Online Desk. Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth on Wednesday announced his retirement from all forms of cricket at the age of 38. Sreesanth announced his retirement through a video on Twitter. After his retirement, Sreesanth said that every player has an age and he is able to do something during this time. Now I was old and it was the right time to say goodbye to cricket so that young players can get a chance.

Sreesanth said that I wanted to win Ranji Trophy for Kerala this year, but this team could not progress beyond the league stage. At the same time, he told that I wanted to play IPL only once and after that I do not play. When asked for which team he wanted to play in IPL, he said that he wanted to play for CSK. Apart from this, he said that he had high hopes from MS Dhoni as he had given many players of the 2007 T20 World Cup winning team such as Irfan Pathan to play for CSK. I was hoping that CSK might buy me, but it didn’t happen.

Sreesanth was asked that after the ban why such things were coming inside you. That I want to play, I have to play in IPL. Where did you get this inspiration from? Responding to this, Sreesanth said that I have a lot of passion about this game. And I wanted to finish there from where I was fired. I was bowling well apart from that I used to get inspiration from both my kids, my parents and myself. It was difficult to play for India. But I was confident that I would be able to play in league or Ranji etc.

Regarding how Sreesanth got a chance to play in the final in the 2011 World Cup. He said that Praveen Kumar was injured and I was in Bangalore. All of a sudden I got a call for a fitness test and I got a chance. I played only the first and final match of this World Cup. I played both the 2007 and 2011 World Cup finals for India and was a part of the team’s victory. At the same time, when he caught the Pakistani batsman in the 2007 T20 World Cup final.
