Cricket Sri Lanka (SLC) appointed Tom Moody as the new Director of Cricket
His appointment comes following recommendations made by the Technical Advisory Committee Head Aravinda de Silva.
Tom Moody will spend an expected 300 days in Sri Lanka over the next three-year contract with Sri Lanka
Among many of his duties include the Analysis of the Future Tour Program, focusing on the Domestic Tournament Structure, Player Welfare, Education and Skill Development, Coaching and Support Staff Structure, and High Performance and Data Analytics.
Moody was appointed coach of Sri Lanka in 2005 and 2007, he led Sri Lanka to the final of the 2007 world cup.
‘’Tom has worked with Sri Lanka Cricket in the past and has shown results, and I am sure with his working knowledge of the system, Tom will add greater value to our game,’’ said the CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket.
Kumar Sangakkara and Muttiah Muralitharan the senior player of Sri Lanka played under Coach Tom Moody.
Moody has many cricketing experiences globally, some of which include ‘Director of Cricket’ of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL),
Coach, and now the Director of Cricket of Sunrisers Hyderabad, in IPL.
