Bastere, Jan 18 (PTI) Captain Dunith Vellallage’s all-round performance helped Sri Lanka beat Australia by four wickets in a Group D match of the ICC Under-19 World Cup here today.
Vellalage first took five wickets for 28 runs after calling the spin net, as a result of which the Australian team was bowled out for 175 runs. Apart from them, Travin Mathew and Matisha Pathirana also took two wickets.

Sri Lanka at one point lost four wickets for 49 runs
Chasing an easy target for victory, Sri Lanka at one point lost four wickets for 49 runs. After this, Vellalage scored 52 runs in 71 balls to get the team out of trouble. He also made two important partnerships with wicketkeeper Anjala Bandara (33) and Ranuda Samaratne (32 not out).
Sri Lanka are at the top of Group D with four points from two matches while Australia are third after one win.
In another match, West Indies beat Scotland by seven wickets to register their first win.
Winning the toss and bowling, West Indies gave Scotland 35. Bounded for 95 runs in 4 overs. 19 after that. The target was achieved for the loss of three wickets in 4 overs.

For West Indies, right arm pacer Shivshankar took three wickets while Onaje Emory and Anderson Mahase took two wickets. West Indies are second in Group D due to better net run rate.
Pakistan Register easy win over Zimbabwe in Group C
Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by 115 runs with the help of opener Haseebullah Khan’s century. Hasibullah scored 135 runs in 155 balls while Irfan Khan scored 75 runs in 73 balls to take Pakistan to 315 for nine. Fast bowler Alex Fallao took five wickets for Zimbabwe.
