Ruckus continues regarding Sri Lanka Cricket. Nothing is going well there after being suspended by ICC. Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe on Monday claimed that his life is in danger after exposing corruption in the country’s chaotic cricket administration. If anything happens to him then President Ranil Wickremesinghe and his Chief of Staff should be held responsible. After this statement the President removed him from the post.

Addressing the Parliament, Ranasinghe said:-

Addressing Parliament, Ranasinghe said Wickremesinghe was trying to frame him for political vendetta and was using false facts related to a vehicle. The minister said that a vehicle imported by him was seized by the authorities on the pretext of tax manipulation to implicate him on false charges. Referring to his move to appoint an interim committee to run the Sri Lankan cricket administration, Roshan Ranasinghe said, “Is this the reward I have received for exposing corruption in cricket? I took action based on the audit report.

Ranasinghe said, “My life is in danger, I could be killed today or tomorrow. If anything happens to me, the President and his advisor Sagala Ratnayake (Chief of Presidential Staff) should be held responsible.”
