Sri Lanka economic crisis: Sri Lanka is currently facing its worst economic crisis. Right now the country is grappling with issues like shortage of essential supplies and rising inflation among others. The government of Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has widely criticized for its poor handling of the crisis. And in such a situation, Sri Lankan veteran players Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene have also shared the post criticizing the government.

Mahela Jayawardene tweeted and wrote,
I am saddened to see the emergency law and curfew in Sri Lanka. The government cannot ignore its people who are agitating for their needs. Arresting the agitating people is not acceptable and I am proud of the brave lawyers who come in the defense of those people. True leaders make mistakes. We need to stand by our people. All these problems are created by man and only an educated person can solve them. Some people are controlling the economy of this country and people no longer trust them. We need a good team to give confidence and confidence to the country. Now is not the time to waste, this is not the time to be polite and make excuses.

Kumar Sangakkara, through a post
Kumar Sangakkara, through a post, urged the Sri Lankan government to take a decision in the best interest of the country and its people amid protests across the country.
