Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga Tests Positive For Covid-19

Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has returned a Covid-19 positive Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on the morning of the third T20I against Australia in Canberra.

He has been kept in Isolation:-

He is currently keeping in isolation. And the match is expecting to go ahead as per the schedule.

Hasaranga is the third member of the touring party. After Kusal Mendis and Binura Fernando tested positive for the virus.

Kusal Mendis’s Seven-Day Isolation:-

Kusal Mendis tested positive on February 7. Is expecting to appear for selection for the third T20I after seven days of isolation.

Meanwhile, Fernando will be ruling out of the T20I series. After testing positive on Saturday, the first day of the series in Sydney.

Wanindu Hasaranga played in the first and second T20Is, taking a total of five wickets.

Got a big IPL deal too:-

Over the weekend, Wanindu Hasaranga also got a major IPL deal. When he was bringing back by Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 10.75 crore (USD 14.3 million).

Hasranga’s first team was also the Royal Challengers and he played two matches for them in IPL 2021.

Hasaranga is the third Sri Lankan cricketer after Kusal Mendis. And Binura Fernando to test positive on the tour of Australia.

“Wanindu Hasaranga has tested positive for Covid-19. A Sri Lanka Cricket statement said. The player was founding positive during the Routine Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) conducted this morning (February 15).

Jeffrey Vandersay is expecting to replace Hasranga. He was the leading wicket-taker for his team with five wickets in two matches.
