Australia team’s star batsman Steve Smith will be seen in a completely new avatar in IPL 2023. By sharing a video on his official social media handles, Smith has informed that he will be seen doing commentary in IPL.
Smith has posted a clip on Twitter –
One of the batting legends of the modern era, Smith will make his commentary debut in IPL 2023. Smith has posted a 15-second clip on his Twitter account, in which he said that he is going to join a passionate India team.
Smith said – “Namaste India. I have an exciting news for you guys. I am joining IPL 2023. Yes, that’s right. I am joining an amazing and passionate team in India.”
Why will Smith not play in IPL 2023 –
Recall that Steve Smith represented Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022. Then this year Smith refused to participate in the IPL. The reason behind Smith’s decision was believed to be that he would be busy preparing for the Ashes series.
Apart from this, there were also reports that Smith warmed the bench most of the time while playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022. This was the reason why he decided not to participate in IPL 2023.
