Suranga Lakmal will retire from all forms of international cricket after Sri Lanka’s tour of India in 2022. The 34-year-old pacer has taken 168 wickets in 68 matches, giving his best performance in Test cricket.

Having made his international debut in 2009, Suranga Lakmal will call it a day after Sri Lanka’s upcoming tour of India.

“I am indebted to Sri Lanka Cricket for giving me this amazing opportunity. And believing in me to bring back the honor of my motherland. As it is an absolute pleasure to be associated with the board which shaped my professional life and shaped my personal growth. also prospered.” He said in his retirement letter submitted to Sri Lanka Cricket.

Lakmal made his debut for Sri Lanka in December 2009 and played a key role in limited-overs cricket at large, taking 109 wickets in 86 ODIs and eight wickets in 11 T20Is.
