Two runs were needed off the last ball, but Cameron Boyce – who took five in the first innings – was dismissed deep. Finch was dismissed for 85 runs in 64 balls.

Alex Hales and Khawaja got off to a fine start for the first Thunder with an opening stand of 80 runs within 7 overs. However, from 80/0, they slipped to 93/5 in no time, with Cameron Boyce taking four wickets in four balls.

Sydney Thunder Crosses 150 :-

After Hales’ 22-ball 44, the next best after Khawaja was 20. Cameron Boyce finished with 5-21 in his quota of overs. Although Khawaja, en route to his half-century, took Thunder past 150, it was a below-par total that he got.

The Thunder finished the league consecutively on points with the Sydney Sixers, but with third place, they would return for a knockout against either the Adelaide Strikers or the Hobart Hurricanes.

Brisbane Heat Competes For Speed :-

Jimmy Pierson also hit 42 off 23 balls, but before and after that, the Heat competed for pace and lost wickets at regular intervals. Spinner Steve O’Keefe did not hit a single boundary in his four-over spell, keeping the opposition at 151 for 8.

Earlier, Daniel Hughes helped Sydney Sixers to a decent total with 59 off 45 balls. Dan Christian’s 24-ball 32 gave him the late motivation he expected.
