Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Senior pacer Ishant Sharma has been included in the Delhi squad. For the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022 that is starting October 11. With his return to home action, the senior pacer is making yet another effort to restart his international career.

Ishant last played Test cricket for India in November 2021

Ishant Sharma last played competitive cricket when he made his Delhi side in the Ranji Trophy in February-March in 2022. The fast bowler did not participate in the entire campaign for Delhi. Ishant Sharma last played Test cricket for India in November 2021. He has not played limited overs cricket for India since 2016.

The Delhi team will be led by Kolkata Knight Riders star Nitish Rana and has several IPL stars. The team will comprise of Hrithik Shokeen (Mumbai Indians), Navdeep Saini (Rajasthan Royals), Anuj Rawat (RCB), Simarjit Singh (CSK), Ayush Badoni and Mayank Yadav (Lucknow Super Giants) and Lalit Yadav (Delhi Capitals).

Joint secretary Rajan Manchanda said, “The president and secretary have full faith in our senior players and Nitish is one of them. We are confident that the team will do well under his leadership.
