London: Luke Wright has created history in T20 Blast. 37-year-old Wright has become the first batsman to score 5000 or more runs in T20 blasts. He achieved this feat in Sussex’s South Group match against Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. Wright, who opened with Pakistan Mohammad Rizwan, scored 46 runs in 35 balls with the help of 8 fours.
Wright did not get much support from the other end and the entire team could post a score of 149/8. Glamorgan achieved the target in 19 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Luke Wright was 20 runs away from completing 5000 runs. He did not have much difficulty in crossing this figure. The veteran batsman now has 5026 runs in 180 matches. He scored this run at an average of 32.84 and a strike rate of 148.47. It also includes five centuries and 30 half-centuries.
