Moreover, the fact that India hasn’t scored the most number of knockout matches in the last few ICC tournaments has also stood in their way of winning the ICC trophy, said the former England captain.

“They are the favourites. I wouldn’t say clear favourites because of the format. The shorter the game. There can be problems. One person’s talent, 70 or 80 or three deliveries suddenly turn it in the opposite direction. So no one can play India. Any knockout can upset the game,” Hussain said on Sky Cricket.

“His document in the recent ICC tournament is really not good and this is something he will have to face – with the burden of the expectations of the Indian spectators and followers – heavy on his shoulders – after coming into a knockout game. You can’t afford a mistake early on and that’s going to be a factor for them.“
