T20 World Cup 2022: Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is almost out of the T20 World Cup due to a back injury. After being ruled out of the last two T20 matches against South Africa, his chances of being ruled out of the upcoming tournament have increased.

Although a decision on whether Jasprit Bumrah will be a part of the T20 World Cup will be taken in the coming time, but according to media reports, Bumrah can leave for Australia with the team.

A senior BCCI official said this on InsideSport :-

A senior BCCI official told InsideSport, “Bumrah needs rest and this is the best medicine for a back injury. For now, he will be under the supervision of the medical staff at the NCA. Nitin is directly looking after his recovery process.

We are not completely excluding him from the T20 World Cup. He will accompany the team to Australia and go through the recovery process there. We have until October 15 to make changes in the team.

Sourav Ganguly reacts to Jasprit Bumrah’s injury :-

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has also given his reaction on Jasprit Bumrah’s injury. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has also rubbished the reports of Jasprit Bumrah’s exclusion from the T20 World Cup. “There is still a lot of time left in the World Cup. Don’t go ahead before the right time,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by Revsportz.

T20 World Cup 2022: There can be changes in the teams till October 9:-

16 teams have been announced for the ICC’s mega event. While the teams can change by 9 October, for which no ICC permission is required. This is the reason that if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants, then Mohammed Shami can be given a place in the final fifty, who is currently part of the reserve.

Apart from this, Mohammad Siraj and Umesh Yadav can also go to Australia with the team. After 9 October, India will have 6 more days to make changes in the team. But for that permission will have to be taken from the ICC.

A BCCI official told PTI on the condition of confidentiality, “It is certain that Bumrah will not be able to play in the T20 World Cup. He has severe back pain and may have to be out for six months.

Bumrah played two T20Is against Australia but did not go to Thiruvananthapuram to play the first match of the series against South Africa. Bumrah is the second Indian player after Ravindra Jadeja to miss the World Cup. Jadeja is recovering from a knee operation.
