Tamim Ready to Return to Everest Premier League

Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal is all set to feature in the Everest Premier League after applying for a no-objection certificate to participate in the competition in Nepal from September 25 to October 9.

Tamim expected to recover from his knee injury before the start of the tournament at the International Cricket Ground:

Tamim, who made himself unavailable for the next T20 World Cup. Expect to recover from his knee injury before the start of the tournament. At the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

BCB Cricket Operations President Akram Khan confirmed the development. On Tuesday (September 7) saying they would make a decision the next day. “We have received a letter from Tamim for NOC to participate in EPL. We will decide tomorrow (Wednesday),” Akram said.

It is understood that the BCB is keen to grant them NOCs to give them a platform to return to competitive cricket.

Tamim, who represents Bhairava Gladiators in the competition. Expected to leave for the tournament on September 24. Which already includes some big names like Chris Gayle, Sandeep Lamichhane, and Mohammad Shahzad.

The EPL was initially scheduled to start on March 14. But it had to be postponed due to Corona. Tamim is taking part in competitive cricket. For the first time after taking a long leave to recover from a knee injury. Due to which he had to miss some T20I assignments at home.

Tamim skipped the T20 leg and went through a rehabilitation program after returning home :

He injured his right knee during Bangladesh’s two-Test tour of Sri Lanka in April-May. He featured in the home ODI series. Against Sri Lanka as well as in the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division T20 League. However, he had to leave the tournament midway due to injury while playing in the league. And missed the one-off Test against Zimbabwe. After leading the team in an ODI series in Zimbabwe. Tamim skipped the T20 leg and went through a rehabilitation program after returning home.
