Bengaluru, Feb 10 (PTI) After retaining four core players, Delhi Capitals assistant coach Praveen Amre has said that the team would now like to pick players who can provide more balance. He expects a lot of competition this time around in the IPL auction.

The mega auction for IPL will be held on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru.

Delhi have retained wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, spinner Axar Patel, opener Prithvi Shaw and South African pacer Anrich Norkea.

Amre as coach we want a balanced team

Amre said in a release, “As coaches, we want a balanced team. He wants a core group.”

“We have retained our four key players. And have a top-order batsman, a wicket-keeper batsman, a fast bowler and an all-rounder. We have kept our basics right.”

He said, “Now we need those seven players who give balance to the team. This is an important goal of ours and also a challenging one.

Now two new teams in IPL are Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants.

Praveen says mega auctions are always challenging

Amre said, “Mega auctions are always challenging especially when there are two new teams. Competition will be very tough. Some teams have more money. That’s where auctioneering experience and expertise comes in handy.”
