Jaydev Unadkat Rocked
In a blow to Bengal’s hopes of winning the Ranji Trophy after more than three decades, fast bowlers Jaydev Unadkat and Chetan Sakaria gave Saurashtra the upper hand on the first day of the final match on Thursday. The Bengal team was dismissed for 174 runs on the first day itself. If spin all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed (69) and wicketkeeper Abhishek Porel (50) had not scored half-centuries, Bengal’s situation would have worsened. Both troubled the Saurashtra bowlers for nearly four hours by sharing a 101-run partnership for the 7th wicket. Left arm spinner Dharmendrasinh Jadeja sent both of them to the pavilion.
