New Delhi: The countdown for the T20 World Cup 2022, to be played between October-November this year in Australia, has started. Less than 100 days are left for the start of the World Cup. Team India is on the West Indies tour these days where it has to play a three-match ODI series and a five-match T20 series.

Team India has to play a total of 18 international T20 matches from the Windies tour to the World Cup. Team India will play a three-match series against Australia. And South Africa at home and finalize their preparations before leaving for the World Cup. The T20 World Cup 2022 is to be held in Australia from 16 October to 13 November.

According to the report of PTI, Team India will play a three-match series against Australia in September. The matches will be played in Mohali, Nagpur and Hyderabad on September 20, 23 and 25. This will be followed by the South African team on India tour which will be played in Trivandrum, Guwahati and Indore on 28 September, 1 October and 3 October.

After the T20 series, India will take on South Africa in the three-match ODI series.

The BCCI will go with a second-rate team against South Africa to finish the pending series postponed due to Kovid-19. Three matches of the series will be played during Durga Puja in Ranchi (October 6). Lucknow (October 9) and Delhi (October 11).

The third match of the series was to be played in Kolkata under the rotation policy but the Cricket Association of Bengal would not be able to make arrangements for the police at the time of Durga Puja. So it was shifted from Kolkata to Delhi. A BCCI source told PTI on condition of anonymity, “As our secretary Jay Shah said recently. We have two national teams of equal strength available. So the three ODIs will be played at a time when the national team leaves for the World T20.
