Team India’s Big Tension Removed before ODI World Cup, 2 Explosive Batsmen Returned in Form

New Delhi: The Indian team started preparing for the ICC World Cup to be held at home this year along with the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Team India started the year with a bang and the biggest relief came from the innings of two match winners. Team India, preparing for the ODI World Cup, made a huge score of 373 runs for 7 wickets in the first match against Sri Lanka. The visiting team could only manage 306 runs for 8 wickets.

This year is very important for Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma and veteran batsman Virat Kohli. After the humiliating defeat in the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup held in Australia last year, the team is eyeing to become the World Cup champion in ODIs. The ICC ODI World Cup is to be played in India this year. The worries of the team went away to a great extent in the first ODI of the year against Sri Lanka.

Team India’s tension away

India made a big score in the first ODI of the year against Sri Lanka. In this, the innings that came out of the bat of the captain and former captain won the hearts of everyone. Rohit Sharma played an inning of 83 runs in 67 balls, scoring 9 fours and 3 sixes. Whereas Virat Kohli scored a blistering century. He hit 12 fours and 1 six in 87 balls. Rohit scored 123 while Virat scored at a strike rate of 129.

Team India got the Edge

After losing the toss, India got down to bat first. Captain Rohit and Shubman Gill added 143 runs for the first wicket. Gill was dismissed after scoring 70 runs while the captain played an inning of 83 runs. Virat came after this and scored his 45th century in ODIs. The team scored 373 runs for 7 wickets. Captain Dasun Shanaka scored 108 runs for Sri Lanka but could not win the team. After 50 overs, the visiting team could only reach 308 runs for 8 wickets. India won the match by 67 runs to take a 1-0 lead.
