James Anderson retirement: England’s experienced fast bowler James Anderson has made a big statement about his retirement before the Ashes series 2023. The English fast bowler says that he wants to end his international career on a good note.

What is Anderson’s plan on retirement?

James Anderson opened up about his retirement in an interview with The Telegraph. He said, “I don’t want to force it (retirement). I don’t want people to think that now you just do it. I want to end my career on a good note. Last year Morgan just woke up in the morning and He knew that this is the right day to take retirement, I also want to say goodbye to international cricket in the same way.

The England fast bowler further said :-

“I consider myself fortunate to be in a position to make my own decisions as a bowler gets robbed of that opportunity due to injury or selection. Going on my own terms would be great. However, Will have to wait for when this will happen.

Anderson’s career has been wonderful :-

James Anderson is counted among the greatest bowlers of England. Anderson has played a total of 179 matches in Test cricket so far and during this time he has taken 685 wickets. The English fast bowler has achieved the feat of taking five wickets in an innings 32 times in the longest format of cricket.

Anderson also holds the record for taking the most wickets as a fast bowler in Test cricket. At the same time, overall in this format, he is at number three after Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne in terms of taking the most wickets.
