The ICC may suspend Afghanistan’s membership

The ICC may have to suspend Afghanistan’s membership due to the Taliban’s stand. However, suspension from the ICC would require a two-thirds majority vote.

As reported by SBS News, Wasik said

Islam and Islamic Emirate do not allow women to play cricket. With the Taliban regaining control of Afghanistan. Cricket Australia made clear. That they will not host the country until the rights of women in the Asian country are exercised.

The Afghanistan women’s team has yet to participate in an ICC-sanctioned match.
