CSA’s new T20 league has said that The South Africa T20 League has already signed more than 30 ‘marquee’ international players for its inaugural season starting in January next year.

Although it did not name any players in its statement, the league said, “The numbers are set to increase as players enter the auction over the next few weeks.”

ESPNcricinfo reported last month that Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone, and Jason Holder were some of the players who signing up for the tournament.

The league, which is expecting to offer player salaries of up to USD 300,000, is a direct competition for players. The International League T20 – the UAE’s new T20 league – set to begin in January next year.

The List of big-ticket Players released:-

ILT20, however, on Monday released the list of big-ticket players that included names like Andre Russell, Moeen Ali, Wanindu Hasaranga, Alex Hales, Shimron Hetmyer, Chris Jordan, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

Each franchise in the CSA T20 league will have a squad of 17 players and will have to pre-sign up five players – three overseas, a South Africa international, and an uncapped South African player – before the auction takes place.

The Four international Players are likely to be allowing:-

over the next few weeks. The league is likely to allow up to four international players in a playing XI, with no other requirements such as change goals.

“This is an important milestone for the league,” said league commissioner Graeme Smith. “It makes for some excellent cricket with world-class South African players playing against some of the best cricketers from around the world.

I am excited to have young and upcoming talent in our cricket pipeline. He will get a chance to play side by side with some experienced and talented guys. Players that will undoubtedly inspire and help them raise their game.

“The league’s priority is to help strengthen our domestic cricket infrastructure while putting together an exciting and entertaining cricket showpiece.

Thoughtfully designed in consultation with the franchisee:-

“Our player rules have been carefully crafted in consultation with the franchises and everyone is ready to move forward. We look forward to seeing how the teams match up and how the franchises will build their squads.”

All the six franchises in the CSA T20 league were bought by groups that have franchises in the IPL. Mumbai Indians are one of them and have named their franchise ‘MI Cape Town. They also have a team in ILT20 and they call it ‘MI Emirates’.

The two leagues in South Africa and the UAE will also overlap with the BBL and BPL, leading to increased demand for players in January next year.
