THE WBBL: Three matches were canceled due to rain

The WBBL game between Melbourne Stars and Brisbane Heat at Inverme Park in Launceston was canceled without a bat-flip due to rain. The rain did not subside and the match was called off after inspection at 1.45 pm local time. The Heat (1.475) is third on the points table with three points. While the Stars are fifth with the same number of points but a lower NRR (-0.760).

WBBL- The tosses for the much-awaited Sydney Derby clash at the Aurora Stadium could not even take place. The Sixers find themselves in second place with five points, with the Thunder placed at the bottom of the table, a point they’re first of the season.

There was some action during the first match of the day at Inverme Park, with useful contributions from Mignon du Preez (39), Naomi Stellenberg (21), and Nicola Carey (19) helping Hurricanes post 107 for 5 in 16 overs. Darcy Brown and Amanda Wellington shared two spoils each for the Strikers. Strike top the table with five points while Hurricanes are fourth with three points.
