Time of First Match of WPL 2023 Changed, GG vs MI Match Will Start at this time

The craze of WPL 2023 is raising heads on all cricket lovers. All preparations have been done for the Women’s Premier League starting today. Today in the first match of WPL 2023, the women’s teams of Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians will be face to face but a slight change has been made in its timing. The Women’s Premier League has released an official statement detailing the pre-match opening ceremony, toss and match start times.

While releasing the official statement, WPL has written that, ‘Today at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the first match will be of Gujarat Giants vs Mumbai Indians, whose schedule has been rescheduled. The first match of this tournament will start at 8 pm, while the toss time will be 7:30 pm. The gates will open for fans at 4:00 PM and so that spectators can watch the grand opening ceremony which will begin at 6:25 PM. Bollywood actresses Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon will be present to add glamor to the tournament. Also, pop star AP Dhillon is all set to create magic on the stage.

A Total of Five Teams Will Participate in the First Season of WPL

The timing of the first match itself was changed. After that all the matches will be held from 7:30 pm and 3:30 pm only. If we talk about WPL happening for the first time. Then a total of five teams will participate in its first season, which include Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, UP Warriors. The league matches will be followed by eliminator matches in the tournament. After this, the final match will be held on March 26 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The team topping the points table will get a direct entry into the finals, and the second and third placed teams will play an eliminator match. While the journey of the remaining two teams will end at the league stage itself.
