Trent Boult out of NZCB’s central contract, will he take retirement now?

Trent Boult: The New Zealand Cricket Board has agreed to release Trent Boult from his central contract. After being out of New Zealand’s central contract, it is being said that he can take retirement, but it is not so.

For the time being, the veteran pacer has been kept away from central contracts to spend more time with his family and play T20 leagues around the world.

The board made it clear, not the end of the glorious international career :-

The board has also made it clear that the decision does not mean the end of Bolt’s illustrious international career. However, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has said that they will give priority in selection to currently contracted players.

Bolt, who has experience of 78 Test matches and over 130 white-ball matches, said he wants to spend more time with his family in the years to come.

Trent Bolt said from his heart :-

Trent Boult said, “This has been a really difficult decision for me and I want to thank NZC (New Zealand Cricket) for their support in getting to this point. Playing cricket for my country was a childhood dream and a past. I am very proud of what I have achieved in 12 years with the Black Caps.”

According to the ICC, Trent Boult further said in his statement, “Ultimately this decision is about my wife Gert and our three young boys. Family has always been my biggest motivator. I want to put it first and then cricket.” I feel comfortable preparing myself to give life.”

Trent Boult is currently the No. 1 ODI ranked bowler :-

Bolt is currently the No. 1 ODI ranked bowler. The left-arm bowler has taken 169 wickets in 93 matches for New Zealand. When he’ll resume playing international cricket remains to be seen. Boult knows his decision will reduce his chances of being picked for international matches in the future.

Regarding this, he says, “I still have a great desire to represent my country and I feel that I have the skills to perform at the international level.

However, I respect the fact that not having a national contract will affect my chances of selection. Having said that, as a fast bowler I know that my career is limited and I think the time is right to move to this next stage.”
