Talking to a sports channel, he said that right now his focus is not on breaking Shoaib Akhtar’s record. But on performing well for his team. He said that he wants to help his team to win all the matches.

Umran Malik bowled the second fastest ball in this IPL season, which was a speed of 157 kmph. However, his record was broken by South African fast bowler Enrich Nortje by throwing the ball at a speed of 157.3 kmph. Umran credited his fast bowling to his state teammate Abdul Samad.
