India’s 2012 Under-19 World Cup-winning captain Unmukt Chand. He will become the first Indian to feature in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). As Chattogram Challengers picked him in the players’ draft held on Wednesday (November 23). The Challengers picked Chand in the second round from the overseas players category for the upcoming edition of BPL starting January 6.

Challengers owner Riftuzzaman told the media after the draft

“We have picked him (Unmukt Chand) because we wanted to have an Indian in our team and also we can have a fan base in India.”

Comilla Victorians, the 2019-2020 champions, who had the first pick in the draft. They opted for the in-form Litton Das, having earlier roped in Mustafizur Rahman as their direct signing

Victorian head coach Mohammad Salahuddin told Cricbuzz during the break between the drafts

“Yes, he (Litton) played for us and but we have picked Mustafizur (as a direct signing) because we wanted to make sure that our bowling strength is not compromised. In that sense you can say that we were lucky to get the first call and get lit,”
