Uproar over Soumya Sarkar ‘s catch out, players angry at umpire’s decision

SL vs BAN: Bangladesh has defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the second T20 match. With this victory, Bangladesh has leveled the three-match T20 series 1-1. Sri Lanka won the first match by three runs and in the second match, Sri Lanka, batting first, scored 165 runs losing five wickets in 20 overs.

In response, Bangladesh won the match by 8 wickets with 11 balls remaining. Bangladesh scored 170 runs in 18.1 overs. Although Soumya Sarkar’s catch out during Bangladesh’s innings has sparked controversy, the Sri Lankan players looked angry with the umpire’s decision.

A catch out appeal was made against Soumya Sarkar on the first ball of the fourth over of Bangladesh’s innings. The field umpire immediately declared out but Soumya decided to take a review. Replays showed that the ball had taken the edge of the bat but the umpire believed that there was no contact between the ball and the bat, although the sound of the ball hitting the bat was recorded on the stump mic, due to which the Sri Lankan camp looked angry. However, the third umpire gave Soumya Sarkar not out.

Partnership of 68 runs for the first wicket between Liton and Soumya :-

At that time Soumya was playing after scoring 14 runs in 10 balls. He was out after scoring 26 runs in 22 balls. He hit five fours in his innings. Bangladesh got off to a good start while chasing the target of 166 runs. There was a partnership of 68 runs for the first wicket between Liton and Soumya. Liton was out after scoring 36 runs in 24 balls. After this, Najmul (53) and Haridoye (32) led the team to victory. Pathirana got two wickets for Sri Lanka.
