Usman Khawaja made serious allegations against ICC :-
But just a day after the International Cricket Council (ICC) rejected Australian opener Usman Khawaja’s latest application to raise awareness on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Khawaja made serious allegations against cricket’s supreme body ICC on social media and asked him to… Said to have “double standards”.
Khawaja had previously been barred from wearing shoes with the messages “All life is equal” and “Freedom is a human right” in the first Test against Pakistan and again for wearing a black armband during the Perth match. ICC had charged him.
Khawaja shared this video on Instagram :-
Frustrated by all this, Usman Khawaja took to Instagram on 25 December to highlight “double standards” and “inconsistency” in following ICC rules. He uploaded a video and captioned it: “Merry Christmas everyone. Sometimes you just have to laugh. Cya at Boxing Day! #inconsistent #doublestandards”
The video featured pictures of his teammate Marnus Labuschagne, whose bat had pictures of an eagle and the Bible, and South African all-rounder Keshav Maharaj, who had the ‘Om’ symbol on his bat.
