Venkatesh played his first Test in Birmingham in 1996 against England. At the same time, he made his ODI debut in 1994 against New Zealand in Christchurch. Venkatesh played his last Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo in 2001 and last ODI against Kenya in Port Elizabeth in 2001.

Name on Lord’s Honor Board

The name of this fast bowler of India is on the honor board of the famous Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. He took five wickets for 76 runs against England in 1996. England had scored 344 runs in the first innings. After that India had scored 429 runs. After this, England had scored 278 runs for nine wickets in the second innings. The match was eventually drawn. This was the debut test of Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly. Ganguly had scored a century.

Five wickets were setbacks against Pakistan

Venkatesh bowled deadly against Pakistan in the 1999 World Cup. The Indian team was dismissed after scoring 227 runs in Manchester. After this, when the Pakistan team came out to bat, Venkatesh wreaked havoc. He took five wickets for 27 runs in 9.3 overs. Venkatesh dismissed Saeed Anwar, Salim Malik, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Azhar Mahmood and Wasim Akram. India won the match by 47 runs. Venkatesh Prasad was the man of the match.

Had wreaked havoc on Pakistan in test also

In 1999, a Test match was played between India and Pakistan in Chennai. India lost this test by just 12 runs. Sachin Tendulkar’s innings of 136 went in vain. Pakistan had scored 238 runs in the first innings. At the same time, India scored 254 runs in the first innings. In this way, Pakistan got a lead of 16 runs in the first innings. He got off to a great start in the second innings. At one time he had scored 275 runs for four wickets. Sunil Joshi took the fifth wicket. After this Venkatesh Prasad took the remaining five wickets. During this he did not give a single run. Venkatesh took a total of six wickets for 33 runs. Pakistan got all out for 286. India had got a target of 271 runs to win. Team India was all out for 258 runs in the second innings.
