Virat-Hardik gave a chance to fight but bowlers beat, Rohit’s captaincy also questioned

England defeated India by 10 wickets in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup to reach the final. In this match, Team India had set a target of 169 runs in front of England. Keeping in mind the history of Adelaide, this target was enough for India’s victory, but the Indian bowlers flopped at crucial times and could not take a wicket in 16 overs. For this reason Team India lost this match by 10 wickets. Jos Buttler and Alex Hales batted brilliantly for England. Both of them made an unbeaten partnership of 170 runs in 16 overs to reach their team in the final. Let us know how the Indian team lost by 10 wickets despite scoring 168 runs.

Virat got out after scoring a half-century

Batting first after losing the toss, Team India had a very poor start. First Lokesh Rahul returned to the pavilion, then Rohit was dismissed after playing a slow innings of 27 runs. Suryakumar too could not do much in the crucial match. In such a situation, Team India was caught in trouble, but Virat and Hardik once again handled the Indian innings by making a great partnership. Virat got out after scoring a half-century, but Hardik played the role of a finisher on the crucial occasion and took Team India’s score to 168 runs. For this reason, the Indian team managed to score 168 runs after losing the wickets of Rahul, Rohit and Suryakumar for 75 runs.

England did wonders of the opening pair

Chasing 169, England’s batsmen made a stormy start. In this match, India needed at least two wickets in the powerplay to defend the target, as England have depth in their batting and are capable of batting till number ten, but it did not happen. England’s opening pair shared a 170-run partnership to win the match in a one-sided fashion. Captain Jos Buttler scored 80 runs in 49 balls. He hit nine fours and three sixes. At the same time, Alex Hales scored 86 runs in 47 balls. His innings included four fours and seven sixes.

Bowlers flopped in important match

In the semi-final match, the Indian batsmen came back from a poor start and took India’s score to 168 runs. This target was enough for India to win. Indian bowlers performed well in this tournament. In such a situation, there was a possibility of Team India’s victory. However, the Indian bowlers flopped at the crucial moment. In 16 overs, Indian bowlers conceded 170 runs and could not take any wickets.

Rohit used six bowlers and four of them had an economy rate of more than 11.30. Shami and Ashwin gave runs at an economy rate of more than 13. Only Arshdeep Singh and Akshar Patel had an economy rate of 7.50. However, both of them could not take any wicket.

Rohit’s poor captaincy

To win this match, the Indian team needed a wicket in the beginning, as England has depth in the batting, but the Indian captain had no plans to dismiss the England batsmen. When the fast bowlers beat for three overs, Rohit stopped bowling to Axar. While Arshdeep’s ball was swinging, he was removed after an over. Even in the middle overs, Rohit had no plan B to take wickets. Axar Patel had disappointed throughout the tournament, but he was fed in this match as well. Pant was given a chance in the team, but he played as a finisher. For this reason, the Indian team could not even show the spirit of fighting in this match.

Flopped opener again

India’s opening pair has consistently disappointed in this tournament. Captain Rohit could only score a half-century against the Netherlands. At the same time, KL Rahul played half-centuries against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, but this pair has not been able to give India a good start in any match. In this match too, Lokesh Rahul was dismissed for five runs and India’s hope of scoring a big score in the powerplay ended. After this Rohit Sharma was also dismissed after scoring 27 runs in 28 balls. Due to his slow innings, India could score only 62 runs in the first 10 overs.
