Virat Kohli Explains the Reason for the Slow start against Pakistan

Indian cricket team’s veteran batsman Virat Kohli has given the reason for making a very slow start to his innings in the match against Pakistan. Virat Kohli has said that he knows that he can go power hitting at the end and that is why he took some time. Virat also said that he felt that he was playing too slow.

In the match against Pakistan, Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 82 runs in just 53 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes and led the team to victory by staying at the crease till the end. Fans got a glimpse of the old Virat Kohli. Indian team needed 31 runs in the last two overs to win. In such a situation, Virat hit two sixes against Haris Rauf, who came to bowl in the 19th over. Virat did not stop there and in the end went on to win the Indian team.

I knew I could end up playing big shots – Virat Kohli

Although initially Virat Kohli was seen struggling a lot and he played a lot of balls. After the match, Virat reacted to his slow start. During a conversation on Star Sports, he said,

When I was playing 12 off 21 balls, it felt like I was making a big mistake. I was not hitting the ball in the gap. However, when you have experience and understand the importance of deep batting, then you do so. This has always been my role while playing for India. I know at the end of the innings, I can hit a lot of power.
