After the defeat in the thrilling match that lasted till the last ball, the Indian team was out of the tournament. South Africa won the match against India by 3 wickets and Team India’s dream of winning the title was shattered. Former men’s team captain Virat Kohli gave a special message for the Indian team, which had missed the semi-finals.

The women’s team did lose out of the tournament. But the way they fought till the last ball against South Africa won everyone’s heart. South Africa needed 7 runs in the last over. And till the last ball it looked like the match was in India’s hold.

Opener Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma played brilliant half-centuries for India. After this, captain Mithali Raj also scored a half-century. Harmanpreet played an innings of 48 runs to take the team’s score to 274 for 7 wickets. In reply, South Africa achieved the target of victory after losing 7 wickets in the last ball.
