Virat Kohli is the Test captain of India for the upcoming South Africa series. Even though Virat was sacked as captain of the One Day International (ODI) team and voluntarily relinquished the role in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). The 33-year-old, however, has not been India’s best Test batsman for the past few years.

After the announcement of Virat Kohli’s removal as ODI captain, he made some “revelations”. During a press conference on Wednesday, Kohli refuted Ganguly’s claim that Kohli was consulted before the captaincy decision was made by the board. He even denied that Ganguly had requested Kohli to continue as T20I captain.

Ganguly later avoided questions on the matter and said, “I have got nothing to say. We will deal with it, leave it to the BCCI.”
Amid this controversy, Virat Kohli and his Test team departed for their South Africa tour in a chartered plane from Mumbai on Thursday morning.
