David Warner admitted he had some doubts about his ability to continue at Test level ahead of his drought-breaking double century against South Africa, but said he has not lost his hunger to play Test cricket. He is as motivated as ever to try and win in India and England.
“Was there a doubt? Yeah, of course, there was doubts in my mind. But for me, it was just about going out there and knowing that I still have that hunger and determination because I find it every time I train. And people keep telling me that You’ll know when it happens and I haven’t really felt it at all yet. I’m still enjoying it.”

“I’m still looking for what energy I can bring to the team. I think once I start to lose that spark and energy around training and getting mickey out to people playing a few jokes here and there I think that’s when I probably know it’s time.”
Warner had not reached 50 in his previous 10 Test innings coming into the match. He revealed that some doubt had crept into his mind despite his public statement that he was run out and out of luck, not out of form.
