WBBL Round-up: Beth Mooney and Sophie Devine dominate, Mooney and Devine’s show rolls on as the pair put their third-century stand of the season together, leading the Perth Scorchers to Adelaide Helped to catch the Adelaide Strikers at Rolton Oval.

Mooney continues to do well :-

Beth continued her fine run, scoring her third consecutive half-century, while Devine scored 61 and 2 for 30 as the strikers fell short of 12 runs in addition to Katie Mack’s unbeaten 84, her third in four matches. She scored an unbeaten half-century.

Perth Scorchers 3 for 177 (Mooney 78, Devine 61, Coyte 1-27) beat Adelaide Strikers 5 for 165 (Mac 84*, Graham 2-30, Devine 2-30) by 12 runs.

He had his sixth century in the last two seasons :-

Beth Mooney and Devine put on 137 runs in 16.3 overs for the Scorchers. This was her sixth century in the last two seasons. Devine was only marginally slow on 117 with seven fours and a six before Megan Schutt was dismissed for cover.

Mooney hit 10 fours in her innings of 78 runs in 53 balls. He had only 10 balls left in the innings. Heather Graham was promoted to No. 3 with Chamari Athapaththu absent for the remainder of the tournament due to international duties. Heather hit two sixes in 11 balls off her 22-ball 11 as the Scorchers reduced to 3 for 177.

Mack and Laura Wolvaardt shared a 90-run partnership :-

In addition to an early loss to Dane van Niekerk, falling from the Marijn Cup, the strikers were on track in response. Mack and Laura Wolvaardt shared a 90-run stand before Devine scored a crucial breakthrough in the 13th over, with Wolvaardt brilliantly caught for 40 by Mathilda Carmichael.

This gave the strikers 79 runs from 45 balls and 8 wickets in hand, but the middle order was unable to approve Mack who remained unbeaten on 84 off 61 balls. Heather Graham and Sophie Devine took two wickets each.
