West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell will join the injured Melbourne Stars for five matches and is set to play his first BBL match of this year against Sydney Thunder at the MCG on Friday (December 10).

Pakistan Fast Bowler Haris Rauf :-

The Anubhuti all-rounder is currently completing his 72-hour quarantine period apart from flying to Sydney. Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has also been included in the team.

Rauf will play his first match of the tournament on December 27 and will be with the team for the rest of the session.

“We’ve got a lot of injuries, a lot of players have yet to play,” Stars captain Glenn Maxwell said after a massive loss against the Sydney Sixers.

“It only puts us behind where we want to be for the first round, but you can’t win a tournament from the first round.

Andre Russell previously played 19 matches for the Thunder in three seasons from 2014 to 2017. His last game for the Thunder was in January 2017, when he was pulled off the field in addition to a hamstring injury in a match versus the Stars.

Overall, he has scored 296 runs in 17 innings at a resultant strike rate of 166.29 in the BBL. He has also taken 23 wickets.

The mighty all-rounder, however, was not in good form in the T20 World Cups held in UAE and Oman in October and November this year, scoring just 25 runs and taking three wickets.
