West Indies will host New Zealand for an eight-match limited-overs series starting September 16, Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced on Wednesday (August 17).
The series will begin with three ODIs and then the teams will move on to play five T20Is, with the final match scheduled for October 6. All matches will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

The three ODIs will be part of the ICC Women’s Championship and will feature New Zealand and West Indies in the 2022–25 cycle.
Both the teams last played an ODI during the World Cup 2022 in New Zealand where the hosts lost the first match against West Indies and failed to qualify for the knockout stages.
West Indies, on the other hand, made it to the semi-finals of the global event, where they lost against eventual champions Australia.
Since then, the White Ferns have won a bronze medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, while Barbados – representing the West Indies region – could not progress past the group stage.
“I am very happy that we will be hosting New Zealand in the West Indies. They are a very competitive team, and it will make for a great series for our team.
As we have the women’s regional tournament and the women’s CPL coming right after, it will be great for our players,” said West Indies head coach Courtney Walsh.
“We are currently holding another specialist camp, including some new players, and we will have a second camp in Antigua after the Women’s CPL.
Furthermore, the lead selector was with the West Indies Under-19 women’s team for their series in Florida and has identified some exciting prospects to consider. So, we should have enough cricket before the New Zealand series starts.”
“Whatever series we play, we want to win, and we will play a positive brand of cricket. We will also have an eye on the T20 World Cup.
So, this will give the team a chance to show off all their skills, and give the coaching staff a chance to see how much depth we have.
This will be the first stint as Windies captain Hayley Matthews, who has been appointed captain of the side in place of Stafanie Taylor after the World Cup. She has already led Barbados during the Commonwealth Games.
