Western Australia’s Cooper Connolly was selected for his second U19 tournament, while along with him, NSW pacer Jack Nisbet, Tasmanian all-rounder Nivethan Radhakrishnan, and pacer Jackson Sinfield have been named.

The Touring As A Young Player :-

“The 17-year-old Harkeerat Bajwa will tour as a young player and will still be the official to be selected in the 2024 tournament,” said a report.

In addition to trial matches at a training camp in Adelaide last week, Cricket Australia has selected a 15-player squad for the Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022 to be held in the Caribbean in January next year.

Australian Men’s Under 19 head coach Anthony Clark said: “Our team includes players from all disciplines with a feel for the domestic cricket environment, and many have made impressive performances this season in a variety of determined competitions.”

A Tricky Selection Tactic :-

Cricket Australia’s head of national development Graham Manau said on Tuesday (14 December) “It was a difficult selection tactic, but we have hope in our system and have closely monitored the development of our U-19 players over the past two years.” “

“From an IQ ID perspective, we have access to world-leading technology, which has allowed for inclusive and more in-depth conversations between coaches and players.

“Inevitably, there were difficult selection decisions, but we will continue to approve and monitor the development of all players in our pathway system.”

Australia will play three pool games before distributing the teams into two 8-team confederations for the Super League and Plate Final series. The team will have a training camp in Melbourne from December 28 before departing for the West Indies.
