WPL 2024 Final: Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Smriti Mandhana does not want to put too much pressure on her team before the WPL 2024 final against Delhi Capitals on Sunday, March 17. Royal Challengers Bangalore men’s team has not won a single IPL title in the last 17 years, while finishing as runner-up thrice (2009, 2011, 2016). However, Mandhana is in no mood to compare with the men’s team.
RCB ‘s captain Smriti Mandhana said in the press conference :-
Under the captaincy of Smriti Mandhana, the Royal Challengers Bangalore team has reached the finals in the second season and the team has a golden chance to win the title. “First of all, I think this year was very important for us to connect with the entire franchise,” Mandhana said in the press conference held after the five-run win over Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator on Friday, March 15. Whatever happened with the men’s team, sometimes it creates pressure.
“So we are just thinking that we are still in the second season so we should not take too much stress. We have nothing to do with what happened to the men’s team.” The first season of the WPL was not so good for RCB in which the team finished fourth in the league stage.
Mandhana further said, “Nothing will change tomorrow also, we will play against a good team of Delhi Capitals which has played very good cricket in the last two seasons.”
Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning has full hope of winning the finals :-
DC’s captain Meg Lanning expressed hope that her players will play the best cricket of the tournament on Sunday, March 17 and win the title which they missed last year. Delhi Capitals were the runners-up last year, losing to Mumbai Indians in the final.
