The Indian team has been announced by the BCCI for the first two matches of the Border-Gavaskar Test series against Australia. Cricket fans hoped that Sarfaraz Khan, who was performing well in the first class, would get a chance to make his Test debut, but it did not happen. The selection committee did not give him a place in the team.

Selector Sridharan Sharath revealed the secret –

While talking to Sports Star, Sreedharan Sharath exposed the matter. He praised Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara. Sharath said, “Kohli is still the match winner. Cheteshwar Pujara brings stability to the batting. Rohit Sharma is a great captain and a great batsman. Shreyas Iyer continues to do well. Shubman Gill and KL Rahul have the ability to bat well.”

Sarfaraz’s fans trolled the BCCI for not getting a place in the team. Fans raised questions that if Ishaan Kishan and Suryakumar can get a place in the team then why the first class run machine is not being given a chance. After several weeks have passed, a member of the selection committee has revealed the reason behind selecting Sarfaraz.

Sarfaraz is in the eyes of BCCI –

The reason behind Sarfaraz’s non-selection was said to be balance and team combination. Sharath said, “He is in the eyes of the BCCI. They will be given their due when the time comes. While selecting the team, attention is paid to balance and combination.”
