ICC has called a meeting for the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai next week i.e. between 11 – 18 March. In this, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is expecting assurance of India’s participation from ICC. Let us tell you that India has not traveled to Pakistan since 2008 and last year i.e. even in 2023, BCCI was not ready to go to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup, due to which it was played in the hybrid model.
Champions Trophy 2025: In a PTI report it was said :-
According to a PTI report, Naqvi will meet the ICC Executive Board and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, where he will demand assurance for the Indian team going to Pakistan.
In the last few years, cricket activities have resumed in Pakistan, but considering the political tension between the two countries, inviting India to play Pakistan for the Champions Trophy will be a very difficult task for the PCB.
A source of PCB gave this information :-
“The biggest concern for the PCB is whether India will send its team to Pakistan and not repeat the issues of last year’s Asia Cup,” a PCB source told PTI, referring to the ‘hybrid model’ used in 2023. will go.”
“It is an ICC event and Pakistan went to India for the World Cup last year. Naqvi will try to convince ICC and BCCI that they need to confirm that India will come to Pakistan as soon as possible as it will help in promoting the CT. Will get it.
The PCB source further said:-
“Naqvi will try to assure the BCCI representative that the elections in Pakistan have been completed and the new government has come in, so he will not have any security or other concerns about playing in Pakistan.”
The source also said that Naqvi will also brief the ICC board about the upgradation of stadiums in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi and the stand of the Pakistan government on India playing in Pakistan.

Also, when a BCCI source was asked about this, his answer was absolutely standard. He said, “Playing in Pakistan is something that can only be decided by the Indian government and BCCI will have to follow the instructions of the government. Apart from this, it would be too early to ask for the government’s permission and if their new president decides to start the tournament in March 2024, If they are expecting any kind of assurance then they are mistaken.”
