Will Jhulan Goswami take retirement after England series or not Captain Harmanpreet Kaur gave important update

Indian women’s cricket team’s legendary fast bowler Jhulan Goswami is in the last phase of her international career. For months there was speculation about Jhulan’s retirement but now captain Harmanpreet Kaur has confirmed it. He said that the veteran bowler will play his last match on the tour of England. Let us inform that India’s tour of England is going to start from September 9, where they have to take the field in three T20 and three ODI series.

Harmanpreet wants to make the series memorable

Harmanpreet said that the ODI series against England will be special for not only Jhulan Goswami but every player in the team and she wants to make it memorable. The captain also mentioned the time when he made his debut for the India team under Jhulan’s captaincy.

Harmanpreet said in the press conference, ‘Jhulan Goswami provides balance to the team and gets a lot of support from her. This (Farwell series) will be very special for us. She was the captain when I debuted and it is a good opportunity for me to lead when she plays her final series. We are trying to make sure that every moment of his is special. The last game will be special for us too.

‘No one can replace Jhulan Goswami’

Harmanpreet praised Jhulan Goswami for his dedication towards the game. He also said that no one can take his place. The captain said, ‘His approach to the game is completely different. No one can compete with him. I learned a lot from him. No one can take his place. She is engaged in the same endeavor even today. You don’t see many bowlers doing this anymore.

Harmanpreet further said, ‘Jhulan’s passion for cricket is unmatched. He is a great example for all of us. Many cricketers started playing inspired by him. What she brings to the team, I have not seen in anyone else. I was lucky that I got to learn from a senior like him.

Jhulan made his International Debut in 2002

It is worth noting that Jhulan Goswami took part in the ODI World Cup played in New Zealand in March this year but she got injured before India’s final group match against South Africa. Due to this, she could not even go on the Sri Lanka tour in July. Jhulan Goswami made his international debut in 2002. He retired from T20 cricket in 2018. This fast bowler played his last Test match in October 2021. Jhulan has played 12 Tests, 68 T20 Internationals and 201 ODIs in total. He has participated in six World Cups.
