Pakistan had demanded to change the venue of its two matches in the ODI World Cup 2023, which was turned down by the ICC and the BCCI. On Tuesday, June 20, the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the International Cricket Council met and rejected Pakistan’s proposal, saying that the PCB had no solid reason.
Match proposed between India and Pakistan on October 15 :-
It may be noted that the ICC will organize the ODI World Cup in October-November to be hosted by India. The match between India and Pakistan is proposed in Ahmedabad on 15 October. Under this proposed schedule, Pakistan has to play against Afghanistan in Chepauk and against Australia in Bangalore.
There was a demand to change the venue of two matches :-
Recently, Pakistan had demanded a change in the venue regarding these two matches. Pakistan objected that Chepauk’s pitch proved to be helpful for spinners and Afghanistan’s camp has world class spinners. Due to this, Pakistan had demanded to have the match with Australia in Chepauk. Along with this, there was a demand to organize the match with Afghanistan in Bangalore.
World Cup schedule may be released by next week :-
According to Cricbuzz, the ICC and BCCI decided in the meeting that Pakistan did not have any solid reason to change the venue. At the same time, the ICC said that the venue can be changed only if the ground staff cites security or if any incident affects international cricket.
