Yuzvendra Chahal Post: India has announced its team for the 5-match T20 series against Australia on Monday 20 November. This T20 series is going to start only 4 days after the World Cup final. The selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar has chosen Suryakumar Yadav as the captain of the Indian team for the T20 series.

India has rested most of the players who played in the World Cup except Surya, Ishan Kishan, and Prasidh Krishna for this T20 series.

Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal’s names are not in the T20 series

The two players are discussed a lot about not selected for the T20 series are Sanju Samson and Yuzvendra Chahal. Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal played his last T20 for India against West Indies in August this year. Yuzvendra Chahal shared a cryptic post on social media after not being selected for India’s T20 series against Australia. He shared a smiley emoji on social media.

Chahal also did not get a chance in the World Cup

Before this, even Chahal had not got a chance in the World Cup. This leg spinner played his last ODI in January 2023. After this, he was a part of the ODI team on the West Indies tour. But he could not play a single match because the team management had given priority to spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin along with spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

Return off-spinner Akshar Patel

Left-arm spinner Axar Patel has returned to Team India for the T20 series against Australia. Axar could not play in the World Cup due to injury. Leg break bowler Ravi Bishnoi and off-spinner Washington Sundar have been included as the two spinners in the team.

Chahal played for the County Championship and Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20

Chahal has taken full advantage of his absence from Team India and played with the red ball for Kent in the County Championship in September. He also played for Haryana in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 and took 11 wickets in 7 matches.
